Drawing inspiration from Alberto Vargas, I created this flash tattoo design and couldn’t resist painting it. The neck tattoo reads “Yalis” which is the Kwakwala name for Alert Bay, and the whale tattoo on her shoulder was given to me by Alert Bay legend and friend Bruce Alfred for a previous mural project with the Nawalakw Healing Society.
