Artist Statement

"Third Eye of the Buffalo" is a celebration of the sacred nature of the buffalo spirit, a revered symbol in the concept of the medicine wheel. Representing wisdom and the northern direction, the buffalo embodies qualities of momentum, survival, and togetherness, all deeply intertwined with the thriving nomadic Indigenous cultures of the plains in both Canada and the United States.

The buffalo's immense size conveys power and strength, and in this painting, the light emanating from its third eye symbolizes profound wisdom and spiritual awakening. The glowing third eye acts as a beacon, illuminating the interconnectedness of life and the harmony achieved when one follows the teachings of the buffalo spirit.
